Social Security allocated a total of 10,943 million euros in November to pay 9,994,836 contributory pensions to more than nine million pensioners. The vast majority are retirement pensions, according to data made public today by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations. The average amount of new retirement registrations in the system rose in November, the last month for which there is data, to 1,378.65 euros per month.
Thus, of the 9,994,836 contributory pensions paid, 6,302,297 are for retirement, 2,356,613 for widows, 949,781 for permanent disability, 341,311 for orphans and 44,834 for relatives. The number of pensions grows at an interannual rate of 0.8%, below the rate of 1.1% a year earlier.
Three quarters of the list of contributory pensions in December has gone to retirement pensions, specifically, 72.6%, that is, 7,939.6 million euros. 1,842.1 million have been allocated to widow’s pensions, while the payroll of permanent disability benefits amounts to 982.6 million, that of orphans, 150 and benefits in favor of family members, 28.8, according to the shell Inclusion.
Until last December 1 in Spain there were a total of 9,053,550 pensioners, which means 1.1 benefits per person. The main pension is the retirement pension for 6.2 million people, of whom 60.7% are men, while the widow’s pension is received as the main benefit by 1.6 million people, 95.9% of they women. They are followed by recipients of permanent disability (944,494), orphans (324,005) and in favor of relatives (44,111).
The average pension of the system amounts to 1,095 euros per month, an amount that includes the different types of pension (retirement, permanent disability, widowhood, orphanhood and in favor of relatives), and which in the last year has increased by 5.3%, 3.7% more. For its part, the average widow’s pension is 781.7 euros per month.
The system’s average retirement pension, for its part, is 1,259.8 euros. By schemes, the average retirement pension from the General Scheme, to which the vast majority of contributors belong, is 1,407 euros per month, while the lowest is registered by the Self-Employed Scheme, at 838.6 euros/month. In Coal Mining, the average monthly retirement is 2,455.4 euros, and it is 1,398.7 euros in the Sea Regime.
A total of 388,235 pensioners have received the gender gap supplement, of which 92.6% are women (359,365). In force since February 2021, it consists of a fixed amount, after the revaluation applied in 2022, of 28 euros per month per child, which is applied from the first child, unlike the previous maternity supplement, and which is requested at the same time that the pension is requested.
The average monthly amount of this pension supplement is 61.2 euros. 21.8% correspond to pensioners with one child (84,599), who previously did not have access to the maternity supplement. In addition, 47.2% of the beneficiaries have two children (183,291); 19.9%, with three (77,234) and with four children, 11.1% (43,111).
For its part, the monthly list of pensions for the Passive Classes, which includes military personnel and civilian personnel of the General State Administration, the Administration of Justice, the General Courts and other constitutional or state bodies, as well as well as civil servants transferred to the autonomous communities, amounted to 1,350 million to pay 691,931 pensioners, 12,228 pensions more than in the same month of the previous year (1.8%)
The system’s average retirement pension, for its part, is 1,259.8 euros. The maximum average pension corresponds to the General Scheme, to which the vast majority of contributors belong, with 1,407 euros per month.
