Sturgeon believes the question to voters should be the same as it was in 2014: “Should Scotland be an independent country?”

Scotland’s chief minister, Nicola Sturgeon, announced on Tuesday that she will call an “advisory” referendum on the region’s independence from Britain on October 19, 2023.

In a speech to the Holyrood Home Rule Parliament, Sturgeon said the plebiscite must be “legal” and “constitutional”, and will pose the same question to voters as the one held in 2014: “Should Scotland be an independent country? ?”.
