A three-year-old girl has been raped in the Indian capital on the anniversary of the fatal gang rape of a student. A 40-year-old employee of a security service was arrested as a suspect after it had initially provided to residents and beaten up, the police announced on Monday.
The child had been found on Sunday unconscious and bleeding heavily in a South West district of Delhi and taken to a hospital, where the surgery had been. The Head of the women Commission of the capital region, Swati Maliwal, tweeted from the hospital, the little girl fights for his life.
Exactly six years earlier, on January 16. In December 2012, had been raped a 23-year-old medical student, after a visit to the cinema in Delhi in a Bus by several young men brutally, and later died. The case sparked protests and a public debate on the Problem of sexual violence in India. A few months later, some of the laws were tightened.
Cruel sexual violence against women and children in India, however, continued to again and again. According to official statistics, in 2016, in India, more than 19 000 rapes of minors have been recognised in the year. The number of unreported cases is likely to be high.
