Shortly before the vote, opponents and proponents of the project in the Parliament a fierce war of words had delivered. Julia Reda of the pirate party, a leader of the opponents of Reform, said that about five million citizens had signed a Petition against the planned upload filter now.
in Addition, more than 200,000 people had demonstrated at the weekend against these plans. However, any criticism had been ignored – the EU Commission had referred to the protesters rather than “Mob”.
