The pharmacologist Heyo Kroemer, chief of the University medical center in Göttingen, is to be the new Chairman of the Executive Board of the Charité. The governing mayor of the free and science, Senator of Berlin, Michael Müller announced Monday after a unanimous decision of the Supervisory Board. Kroemer following the 71-year-old neurologist Karl Max Einhäupl, who will vacate his Post after more than ten years at the top in the coming year.
The 58-year-old Kroemer was the preferred candidate of Michael Müller and was already proposed in August with the unanimous decision of the selection Commission for the Post.
