“The AI will win,” said David Guetta during an interview for the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast published on July 23. The DJ and producer explained why technology is likely to overtake musicians. “She can learn anything,” he continued. During a concert in February, the artist broadcast a title on which he had posed the voice of Eminem. Except that it was not about the American rapper but about his voice generated by artificial intelligence. David Guetta clarified after his show that the title would not be marketed.

According to the producer, “the AI does what we do, only better”. Indeed, it has the ability to learn from all types of musical data. “If I want a soul record, the AI is able to analyze all the chords in history, which ones have succeeded, the keys, what works or not in a sequence of chords. Humans cannot compete with that,” explained David Guetta.

At the microphone of Rolling Stone, he reassures: “It’s going to be incredible, we are living a very interesting moment, I’m really not afraid”. David Guetta says he is very interested in artificial intelligence and is starting to use it to make music. “It’s an opportunity to make music easily with a single tool: your computer,” explains the producer. We no longer need musicians or go to the studio to create titles.”

In February, during a concert, the DJ played an unreleased track created using AI. “I asked the smarts to write Eminem-style lyrics about the future of rave,” he explained. David Guetta clarified himself that this title would not be marketed. The DJ jokes: “I did this for fun”, but more seriously states that he wants to “open the debate on artificial intelligence in music”.
