Oscar-winning American actor Jamie Foxx is the target of a complaint for sexual assault in New York in 2015, according to a document from the New York justice system on the eve of the expiration of a law which allows victims of sexual violence to file a civil complaint for prescribed facts.
According to this complaint filed before the Supreme Court of the State of New York, a court of first instance, consulted by AFP on Wednesday evening, November 22, Eric Marlon Bishop, alias Jamie Foxx, sexually assaulted the complainant, identified in the complaint only as Jane Doe because she wishes to maintain her anonymity. It was during a party on the rooftop terrace of a Manhattan bar and restaurant after she and a friend approached the movie star and had their photo taken with him in August 2015.

Representatives for Foxx did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages. The complaint says Foxx allegedly groped the woman and put his hands under her clothing against her will, until her friend found them both, interrupted the actions, and she left.
The actor is best known for his portrayal of singer Ray Charles in the film “Ray” (2004), which won him an Academy Award. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his supporting role in the film “Collateral.” He is one of the latest celebrities to be accused of sexual misconduct in a series of lawsuits filed under the Adult Survivors Act, a law of the New York State which allows legal action to be taken even if the statute of limitations has passed. The one-year deadline provided by law for these types of complaints expires at the end of this month.
Others prosecuted under the law include actors Russell Brand and Bill Cosby, former film producer Harvey Weinstein, former president Donald Trump, and hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, whose The matter was resolved after a day. Axl Rose, the former lead singer of the band Guns N’ Roses, was sued Wednesday by Sheila Kennedy, an actress and former “Penthouse Pet of the Year,” for an alleged assault in 1989.
