Barbie is arguably one of the most anticipated films of 2023 by audiences. The premiere of Greta Gerwig’s romantic comedy, broadcast in Los Angeles on Sunday July 9, did not fail to seduce critics. The feature film, worn by Australian actress Margot Robbie and her sidekick Ryan Gosling, will not be released until July 19 in France and July 21 in the United States. Spectators will also be able to find Dua Lipa, Simu Liu, Emma MacKey or even Sharoon Rooney in the cast as pretty figurines.
However, against all odds, the craze is such that the Warner Bros studios are already considering the continuation of the adventures of the perfect couple. The Word of Reel site suggests that a sequel to Barbie centered on the doll man is already in “development” at Warner Bros and that the actor from Drive will surely reprise the role. It wouldn’t be surprising. Some film critics are already anticipating the Oscar for the performance of the Canadian. Be careful though. To date, nothing has been confirmed or denied by the American production company.
On the box office side, it could even become the hit of the summer with Oppenheimer, which comes out the same day. According to estimates, the feature film should make between 80 and 100 million dollars during its opening weekend in the United States.
