A year after the triumph of his first film concert at the Palais des Congrès, Claude Lelouch and his friends are back for a short tour to celebrate the French director’s 60-year career. This 4-date tour began on October 27 with a first concert in Douai, then will continue in Paris, on Wednesday November 15 at the Salle Pleyel, then in the Zéniths of Lille (December 3, 2023), Rouen (November 17, 2024) and Caen (December 1, 2024).
From A Man and a Woman to Itinerary of a Spoiled Child, via Les Uns et les Autres, the show retraces in images the cult moments of the 50 films of the 86-year-old filmmaker, all accompanied by the musicians of the Douai Orchestra. They succeed the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, which was chosen for the very first concert in 2022, and will honor the most beautiful soundtracks from Claude Lelouch’s filmography. Through his numerous collaborations with Francis Lai and Michel Legrand, Claude Lelouch has always wanted to give a central role to music in his works.
If Claude Lelouch’s teams have not revealed any clues as to the presence of guests, there is a good chance of seeing familiar faces there. During the first concert on November 14, 2022, Claude Lelouch notably invited Nicole Croisille and Calogero to perform the famous Dabadabada mythical theme from the film Un Homme et Une Femme, but also Ibrahim Maalouf, who composes the soundtrack of his next and perhaps last film Finally. A film which will, as usual, put music in the spotlight: “It’s going to be a very musical film,” the 85-year-old director told BFMTV. It will be the love story between a trumpet and a piano.”
