“It’s the weakest Coachella lineup I’ve ever seen,” reacts an Internet user to the publication of the list of artists present during the new edition of the American festival. “I was having a bad day, this made it worse,” commented another. However, the program brings together world stars, like Lana del Rey and her melancholic music and the electric Doja Cat, but also rising rap stars like the Americans Renee Rapp and Victoria Monet.

Satisfying fans is becoming more and more difficult. The 2023 edition, also criticized, was nevertheless historic and saw the Puerto Rican Bad Bunny – then the most listened to singer and rapper in the world – become the first Spanish-speaking and Latin artist to headline the event. And that same year, K-pop group Blackpink from South Korea was the first Asian group to headline. After the appearance last year of the Belgian singer Angèle, DJ Snake and the pop and electro group l’Impératrice will have to ensure the relay of the French-speaking scene.

“Everyone is only excited for Lana Del Rey,” says one user. More than a hundred singers will perform on the festival stages over two three-day weekends, from April 12 to 14 and April 19 to 21. Among them, the presence of the K-pop phenomenon ATEEZ, Jon Batiste, Jungle, J Balvin, Lil Yachty and the Brazilian singer Ludmilla.

The 2024 edition will still be marked by the return of the American punk group No Doubt – led by Gwen Stefani and who reached their peak in the 1990s – who will perform for the first time at a festival since 2015.

Saint Levant, an artist of Palestinian, French, Algerian and Serbian origin, who now lives in Los Angeles will also perform at Coachella. He spent his childhood in Gaza before his family was forced to flee to Jordan.

For over 25 years, Coachella has brought together the biggest music stars in the world: Daft Punk, Amy Winehouse, JAY Z, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, Beyoncé etc. To attend the festival, the price of the three-day pass in 2023 was 499 dollars (460 euros) and 1269 dollars (1160 euros) for a VIP pass. The classic pass includes access to the festival and parking, but not to the campsite. For accommodation, you need to spend at least 200 dollars and several thousand dollars for more luxurious accommodation. For this new edition, prices have not yet been communicated.
