Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, guest of honor at National Day celebrations in France on July 14, will dine at the Louvre Museum on Friday with Emmanuel Macron and hundreds of guests, the French presidency announced on Monday. “The president will present some works from the museum” during this official dinner in honor of his guest, visiting Paris on Thursday and Friday. More than 200 guests from different parts of society and active in the bilateral relationship will be present in the most visited museum in the world, home of the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo or Freedom guiding the people.

India and France are bound by a 25-year-old strategic partnership and the two countries intend to further increase their collaboration, even more in an increasingly conflicting global panorama.

For his fifth visit to France, the Indian Prime Minister will arrive in Paris on Thursday. He will dine the same day with Emmanuel Macron as part of a private dinner and will address members of the Indian community at the Musical Seine, in Boulogne-Billancourt, where the Indian cultural festival Namaste France is held.

On Friday, he will be present at the military parade in which a strong Indian contingent will participate, will have talks at the Élysée with Emmanuel Macron at the end of the afternoon and will go to a forum of business leaders, according to the presidency.

Draft commercial contracts or economic cooperation in several areas such as defense or energy are underway, and could be finalized or announced during the visit, but no source has come forward to guarantee it.
