In an interview with Télé 7 jours magazine, to be published on Monday, Florent Pagny confided in his lung cancer. On January 25, 2022, the interpreter of Savoir Aimer, announced his illness. Healed a few months later, without sparing himself, he even decided to go back on stage for the festivals of this summer. But in March, at the microphone of Sept à Huit, the singer explains that he is relapsing: “I would have preferred to be there laughing, swinging valves, saying that everything is fine, that there is nothing left. , that nothing came back, this is not the case. (…) And the five months, maybe if I had been in France, I wouldn’t have this lymph node that appears like that, and if I had followed the planned program maybe… c It’s kind of my fault.”
His new treatment is heavy: “I still go to a clinic every three weeks, to put some juice on me, and check regularly to be sure that it doesn’t come back… since it has already come back once”, laments he. “It’s okay… Anyway, I’m nowhere, because you never know when it’s over. I am told between five and ten years of treatment before being able to say that the risk of relapse is far away, ”explains Florent Pagny. “As long as I’m not dead, it’s the right way!” he jokes anyway. This summer, the singer is touring the festivals. According to him, this would be a good compromise: “It’s a little quieter. I am not on stage every day, it is played mainly on weekends.
Florent Pagny remains a little evasive. “The provisions are mainly based on my diet: more alcohol, as little sugar as possible. And I no longer do rehearsals, to save myself, ”explains the singer. Optimistic, he even finds some advantages. “It’s going well, the voice is beautiful, everything is fine. It is even clearer than before, since I quit smoking a year and a half ago now.” Reading it, the hardest thing to manage would be the emotion. At each of his appearances on stage, the public gives him the warmest welcome: “I can’t get carried away by too many emotions, because otherwise, in the end, we don’t put on the same show!”
