Florent Pagny has canceled a concert scheduled for this Saturday evening in Châlons-en-Champagne on the occasion of the Foire en Scène festival, for health reasons… before wanting to honor him, BFMTV tells us. The singer, released from the clinic 48 hours ago, still according to information from our colleagues, will probably go on stage.
The singer, who announced in January 2022 that he had lung cancer, has since been fighting to maintain his activities despite heavy treatment. Last June, he unveiled his many projects, between festivals, studio and TV show, after starting a third chemotherapy in April. On May 25, he announced to Télématin to be doing better. “I’m getting back on track. Everything becomes more fun and at the end, well, you say to yourself: ok it’s good, now I’m going to start singing”. At the end of June, Florent Pagny was able to go back on stage at the Nîmes festival. “It still has a funny effect. It’s the recovery and you’re still there, “he said on stage, recalls BFMTV.
In early April, the artist published an autobiography co-written with novelist Emmanuelle Cosso-Merad. Entitled Pagny by Florent, it met with great success. He talks about his career, his romantic relationships but also his fight against the disease, which “brought him back to life”, according to the writer. “In recent years, he was no longer fighting, it was not worth it. He was on a highway, everything was going for him. He was looking for meaning in his life and he found a fight to lead, ”Emmanuelle Cosso-Merad told Liberation. Beyond his state of health, his book also evokes his relationship with Vanessa Paradis or his troubles with the tax authorities, from which his song My freedom to think is directly inspired.
