The funeral of actor and singer Guy Marchand, famous for his role as detective Nestor Burma on television and popular songs like Destinée, died Friday at the age of 86, will take place on December 27 in Mollégès (Bouches-du -Rhône), his children announced to AFP.

“A ceremony will be held at 8:45 a.m. in the St Pierre-es-Liens church in Mollégès in honor of Guy Marchand. In accordance with his wish, this will be followed by a joyful and festive gathering open to people wishing to pay tribute to him,” said Ludivine and Jules Marchand.

The family of the actor and singer “invites in particular the musicians who worked with him to participate in this commemoration by coming to play if they wish”. Guy Marchand died “peacefully” at Cavaillon hospital (Vaucluse), according to a previous press release from his children to AFP.
