“They annoy me. I just want to smack them donuts. I have no other words than that.” Guests of RTL Good evening Monday November 13 for the promotion of the film And the party continues, the actress Ariane Ascaride and the director Robert Guédiguian were annoyed by the divisions within the Nupes (New Popular Ecological and Social Union), whose members are at odds for several months.

“It’s scandalous. It’s just scandalous. There are lots of people who believed in them, who voted for them and who have hope! And then they laugh at each other. But who are these people ? How do they relate to others? To all those who are there, who get up in the morning, who go to work, who are in the street, who we don’t see but who exist?”, the actress said. “They are next to the world in which we live,” continued the filmmaker.

In And the party continues, the popular cinema couple, notably known for the film Marius and Jeannette (1997), addresses the themes of poor housing, hospitals and exiles. “The film is a call not to give in, not to think that collective action is useless,” said Robert Guédiguian. Ariane Ascaride plays in the feature film the character of Rosa, a mother and caregiver who politically campaigns for the union of the left in Marseille.

Lola Naymark, Jean-Pierre Darroussin and Robinson Stévenin are in the cast of And the party continues. Robert Guédiguian’s film will be released in theaters on November 15.
