Bruce Springsteen signs a fan’s notice of absence. On March 31, during his concert at the Chase Center in San Francisco, United States, the singer’s attention was monopolized by a young girl in the pit. According to the media Fox News, the latter had in her possession a sign, on which one could read: “I miss classes, will you sign my absence note?”

Neither one nor two, the Born In The USA singer leaned towards the front rows to take a look at the absence word in question. “Mrs Norman, sorry for missing class yesterday,” explains the apology note. I went with my parents and my sister to see the legendary Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, who makes the heart sink, the pants drop, the earth shock, the butt shake, the earth shake, the love is born and write history.” Amused by the situation, the singer signed without hesitation, to the delight of this young 11-year-old fan.

This is not the first time that Bruce Springsteen has signed a note of absence for a student in the audience. In 2016, the same request was made during a signing session of his autobiography Born to Run, in Philadelphia. A young boy had come, demanding the singer’s signature on his apology note for school. “Please excuse Michael Fenerty for being late for school today. He came to the bookstore in Philadelphia to meet me and get a copy of my book,” the note read, according to ABC News.

Bruce Springsteen’s concert in San Francisco takes place as part of his world tour, which began in February 2023 and was then postponed due to a peptic ulcer. “Here on E Street we are heartbroken to have to postpone these concerts,” he explained on Instagram. Fortunately, the singer was able to return to the stage on March 19, 2024 alongside his E Street Band. He will make his big return to France, one year after his show at Paris La Défense Arena, and will perform at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille on May 25.
