Patrick Bruel is one of the rare personalities to speak out on the war between Israel and Hamas. The singer and actor, who believes that there has been “enough silence”, spoke openly about the conflict in La Tribune this Sunday, February 4.
The 64-year-old singer and actor, who is going on tour for his album Encore, reports to La Tribune that it is still “very difficult to broach the subject” of the Hamas attack against Israel on October 7. In the columns of our colleagues, the artist describes the latter as a “pogrom caused by a terrorist group”. But Patrick Bruel above all told La Tribune that he felt less secure since the start of the war in the Middle East. “I feel threatened as a Jew. But above all as a citizen, he clarified. Each time the Jews were affected, the entire Republic and democracy suffered the consequences.”

“A lot of people are adding fuel to the fire for very specific purposes. I have always had a discourse which tends towards appeasement in an attempt to avoid escalations and the risks of amalgamations,” the artist underlined to La Tribune, who believes that “Hamas and the Palestinian people have not nothing to see”. To our colleagues, the actor draws attention to the victims of the conflict: “The vast majority of them, neither the Palestinians nor the Israelis wanted this war.”
And while recognizing that “the Israeli settlement problem must be resolved,” the interpreter of Casser La Voix advocates a two-state solution. “But it takes two to want it. The latest comments from Hamas are clear, they do not want to hear about it,” he said. According to Patrick Bruel, “both Hamas and Hezbollah are in the pay of another power which only thinks of erasing Israel from the map.”
After forty years of career, Patrick Bruel still enjoys great success. The singer is preparing to go on tour for his album Encore, released in November 2022. The 2024 Tour will begin on February 27, 2024 in Narbonne. The artist will travel through France, Belgium and Switzerland until June 9, 2024.
