A man was arrested on Monday February 12 for firing a gun outside the Paris Bercy Arena while Italian singer Laura Pausini was in concert. According to information from the Paris public prosecutor’s office collected by BFMTV, the suspect fired a handgun at the “armored glass” door of an emergency exit from the concert hall. The incident caused no injuries and the security agents “managed to convince him to put his weapon away” before the police arrested him, the authority said. An investigation into “attempted murder” and “degradation” was opened.
Laura Pausini published a message on her X account (formerly Twitter) the day after the concert. “As I have parents, friends and fans alarmed by the news from Paris, I must intervene,” she begins. “None of us noticed anything. The show began and ended without us knowing anything and without any problem,” adds the interpreter of La Solitudine who learned of the incident through the press on Tuesday February 13. She wants to be reassuring: “The incident has nothing to do with our tour. There is no other news.”
