American bassist Marcus Miller will be one of the main headliners for the 50th anniversary of the Nancy Jazz Pulsations festival, from October 7 to 21, where nearly 100,000 music lovers will be able to attend more than 150 concerts, the organizers announced on Thursday.

For the 50th anniversary, “we wanted to associate emblematic artists of the festival, like Marcus Miller, who is coming for the sixth time, but without making a backward-looking program, and remaining eclectic”, the director told AFP in May. – Nancy Jazz Pulsations programmer, Thibaud Rolland. The organizers revealed Thursday the complete list of artists who will perform on one of the six stages of the festival, led by the Polish pianist Hania Rani, the leader of the Snarky Puppy, Michael League, or the Israeli composer Asaf Avidan.

Zaho de Sagazan, revelation of French song 2023, who will perform at the Olympia on November 4, will also be there, as will American rapper Yasiin Bey (better known by his first stage name, Mos Def), surrounded of the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, or the Thomas Dutronc Trio. The singer Emilie Simon, who is celebrating her 20-year career, is also on the bill, as well as the poet-rocker Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, or even Pedro Winter, one of the ambassadors of the French Touch electro, and his label Ed Banger. Acid Arab, a Franco-Algerian collective that provokes a beautiful collision between Western techno and Eastern trance, will also be eagerly awaited.

For this anniversary edition, the organizers have planned other highlights, including an exhibition retracing the 50th anniversary of the festival, which opens on Friday, and the “36 Hours of Pursuit”, a set of festive and free concerts throughout the city ​​for the opening weekend. “I wanted us to create an event that Nancy residents could remember for 10 years, at least,” welcomed Thibaud Rolland.
