Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof, in the sights of the Tehran regime, will come in person to present his film The Seeds of the Wild Fig Tree at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, after having clandestinely fled his country, his general delegate Thierry Frémaux announced Tuesday to AFP .

The film, in the running for the Palme d’Or, must be presented on Friday, the day before the announcement of the prize list. By welcoming Mohammad Rasoulof, the Festival wishes to affirm its support “to all artists who, in the world, suffer violence and reprisals in the expression of their art,” declared Thierry Frémaux.
