The presence of a “children manager” will be compulsory from this summer on each shoot employing minors, and will be a condition for receiving public aid, announced the Minister of Culture Rachida Dati on Saturday May 18: “It will be “a condition of access to aid from the CNC”, the National Cinematography Center, specified the minister traveling to the Cannes Film Festival.

This measure was requested by the actress Judith Godrèche, who has become the standard bearer of the fight against sexual violence against children and of the movement.

Hearing last February by the women’s rights delegation at the Palais du Luxembourg, Judith Godrèche asked to “impose a neutral referent on filming with a minor, a referent who is not paid by the production, who is trained”, and “that a child is never left alone on set”, with “a more effective control system”. During a hearing before the delegation for children’s rights of the National Assembly in March, the actress recommended the creation of a parliamentary commission of inquiry into labor law in the world of cinema and “the risks for kids”.

A request heard, the deputies having unanimously approved, on May 2, the creation of a commission of inquiry into sexual violence in live performance. The hearings will start on May 22, said environmentalist rapporteur Francesca Pasquini (Ecologist – NUPES) to the press, alongside President Erwan Balanant (MoDem). A report will be submitted “around November 4”, with “concrete” solutions of a legislative nature but not only, they specified.
