Have you always dreamed of stepping into the shoes of Princess Leia? Failing to be the famous heroine of the Star Wars saga, it will soon be possible, in exchange for the modest sum of 750,000 dollars, to afford her dress. The auctions begin this Wednesday (5 p.m. from Paris). And with the princess’s dress, almost 1,500 objects taken from a vast sample of blockbuster films: Harry Potter’s letter of admission to Hogwarts, Indiana Jones’ hat and even, for the bravest, this ugly doll used to shoot the horror movie Chucky.
This large auction, entitled “memorabilia of entertainment” is organized by Propstore Auction in Los Angeles and will last until Friday, reports Le Parisien . The auction starts for the modest sum of 250 dollars for the smallest lots (count rather 12,000 dollars for Harry Potter’s wand, and 75,000 for the outfit worn by Daniel Radcliffe, his interpreter, in the first film) up to two millions of dollars for the most coveted objects. Among them, the motorcycle used by Batman in the saga of the same name and the dress worn by Carrie Fisher in the first Star Wars.
The catalog also offers Kate Winslet’s dress in Titanic, Captain America’s shield or even a replica of the car used for the filming of Back to the future – for the vehicle, the bidding, which opened this morning, currently amounts to $100,000. The sale, which is eclectic, also offers accessories taken from series, such as the mask of the White Walkers in Game of Thrones. Other, more confidential items are also on sale: annotated scenarios (those from George R. R. Martin’s series in particular), posters and exclusive books, such as the first edition of the first volume of Harry Potter.
