Video signings to earn a few dollars. With the strike in Hollywood, American actors are forced to find new sources of income. In exchange for a little money, more and more of them are signing videos for individuals, reports BFMTV. This is particularly the case of the president of the union of actors and interpreter of A nanny from hell , Fran Drescher.
Since July 14 – the date of the start of the social conflict – 2,400 American actors have created an account on one of these sites which offer to connect actors and individuals. One of these sites, Cameo, allows actors to earn sums ranging from 1 to 25,000 dollars depending on their level of notoriety. It is possible to ask the stars to deliver all kinds of filmed messages: marriage proposals, advice, congratulations or even a little birthday note.
Most of the actors present on the platform are accustomed to supporting roles, stars of the small screen or of films and series belonging to another era. Among them, Dean Norris from Breaking Bad, Brian Cox from Succession or Elijah Wood from Lord of the Rings. “The vast majority [of actors] are simply rich and famous”, deciphers with CNN Business the president of Cameo. A service like Cameo is arguably the best way for many of them to bridge their finances.”

The two professions are calling for wage increases, a better distribution of income generated by streaming and guarantees against the emergence of artificial intelligence in their professions.
The production studios union, which loses thousands of dollars every day of paralysis, had already made an initial offer to the screenwriters. The union had dismissed it out of hand, judging it insufficient in view of the issues.
