It’s on the bill, and it’s undoubtedly the most irrational show you can see, on stage or in the room… Imagine a packed house, (Légendaire fills up wherever it is programmed) , a standing audience screaming and applauding wildly and artists who mostly sing in… playback! This is what is happening with the big show of the queens of Drag Race France season 2.
Avatar of the television show which, in two summers, has established itself in the public service panorama, the 12 drag artists on stage interpret the great hits of international variety in their own way. It’s often very funny, totally offbeat, and against the traditional rules of a show. The costumes are obviously flamboyant, the crazy wigs, the excessive high heels, the very studied lighting, the gleaming rhinestones and the limitless fluttering of eyelashes.
A real show, even if it remains closer to a television show that would have been installed on a set than on stage. In turn, each of the speakers – sorry: speakers – does their little show for a few minutes. So follow one another, with others, Moon, Mami Watta, Rose, and of course Sara Forever. With each intervention, the room swoons. There are not only defenders of the LGBT cause to applaud them. There are mainly groups of friends or girlfriends coming to party. And the group training is impressive, as if all these people who didn’t know each other became one to share in the same momentum the same pleasure: that of healthy transgression.
Tour in France in October (Rouen, Saint-Étienne, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Marseille, Tours), then return to the Folies Bergère (Paris 9th) from November 7 to 18.
