Spice Girls fans have been in turmoil since the sharing of a video of Victoria Beckham with an enigmatic message. On the images, she sings alongside David Beckham, her husband, on the tube of her group Say you’ll be there, released in 1996. The ex-singer adds in caption of her video posted on Tiktok “I warm my voice! The sequel is coming!” A message concluded by a “secret” emoji, the finger brought to the mouth.
In October, the model had rejected the idea of returning to the group during the American show Whatch what happens live. “I had a lot of fun being part of the Spice Girls. But I think that now, with everything I have to do – my fashion brand, my beauty line, my four children – I couldn’t commit to this”. However, in June, Mel C, one of the members of the girl band, had told the BBC that the five Spice Girls were ready to reform for a performance at the British Glastonbury Festival in 2024. The tabloid The Sun had subsequently assured that, according to an anonymous source, Victoria Beckham would join the group to celebrate her 30th birthday. Information not denied by the main interested parties.
Formed in 1994, the Spice Girls were one of the most iconic pop bands of the 1990s, before breaking up in 2001. In 2007, they reunited on a world tour and broke a record: bookings for their night at London’s O2 Arena sold out in 38 seconds. They meet again in 2012 for a sequence during the London Olympics ceremony, before a tour of Ireland and the United Kingdom in 2019 in which Victoria Beckham did not participate.
