They renew their support for Palestinian civilians victims of the bombings in Gaza. On social networks, the two members of the rap group PNL have been speaking out for several days in support of Palestinian and Israeli civilians affected by the conflict between Hamas and the Jewish state. On Wednesday, the day after the bombing of a hospital in Gaza, the duo challenged the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron.
“Know that we are all proud to be French,” begins the message signed Ademo, one of the members of the duo, and taken up by Nos, the second rapper in the group. “We condemn Hamas’ attacks on innocent children and civilians,” they continue by way of preamble, before getting to the heart of their message: “We feel an injustice that is taking place thousands of kilometers from us” .
“Personally, I wonder how can we eat peacefully while watching these atrocities? Or even sleep soundly as if nothing had happened? In France and elsewhere in the world, we cry, we feel injustice, we see that children and women are trying to survive when they are not dying,” they continue.
Before directly urging the President of the Republic to act: “Although leading in today’s context must be a very heavy task to bear (sic), we need a president who represents the values of our country. (…) In Gaza, people are dying by the thousand at a time when “it must be said” the leaders of our beautiful country are sadly playing ostrich.” Then: “Mr. President, as hard as your role is, we ask you in the name of all French people of heart to support the civilians in Gaza in complete distress. To help in the name of our nation.”
Their message follows the bombing of the Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, when various reports of 50 to 500 deaths were produced and Hamas and Israel blame each other for the tragedy.
Tuesday evening, Emmanuel Macron condemned this attack on the Gazawi hospital, which caused “so many Palestinian victims”. “Nothing can justify targeting civilians,” he condemned.
Since the attack on civilians by Hamas on October 7, the government of Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a counter-offensive targeting the Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health controlled by Hamas, 3,500 people have been killed since the start of the conflict. On the Israeli side, more than 1,400 people have died since the start of the war, most of them losing their lives during the October 7 attack. Hamas is also holding 203 people hostage, according to the latest count by Israeli authorities.
