The musical Miraculous, a variation of an animated series for children, attracted more than 660,000 spectators during its first week of operation in France, according to CBO Box-Office figures published on Wednesday.

Having become a parents’ nightmare, the phenomenon series viewed in 150 countries, created by Jeremy Zag in 2015, tells the adventures of Marinette, an ordinary young schoolgirl with one detail. When evil threatens Paris, the young girl transforms into Ladybug and runs to the rescue of the citizens of the capital. In her quest to maintain order, she is supported by Adrien alias Chat Noir, one of her classmates with whom she is secretly in love.

The adventure film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, by James Mangold, follows suit with more than 643,000 admissions, after having exceeded one million spectators the week of its release, in full Film Festival.

The new animated film from Pixar studios (Disney), Elementary, is relegated to third position: this fantastic tale, which has immigration as its backdrop, totals nearly 1.4 million admissions in three weeks.
