The adventures of Elsa are back, in podcast this time. As the 10th anniversary of the animated feature Frozen approaches, Disney Publishing Worldwide is launching the original Forces of Nature podcast. In collaboration with Walt Disney Animation Studios, ABC Studio and sponsored by Macy’s, the unreleased 12-episode, 20-minute project expands the storytelling of the original film. The story of the podcast should take place between Frozen 2 (2019) and the third chapter, announced by Disney in February 2023 to Variety, and whose release date is still unknown.
Forces of Nature would address different themes, such as family, forgiveness and self-discovery. New characters will appear. The public will discover Queen Disa, great leader of a kingdom plagued by floods. Listeners will also get to know the two company magpies named Astrid and Magnus. According to the synopsis revealed by Disney Books, “Queen Anna has a lot on her plate. There are visitors to his kingdom, a friend in need, and even the Duke of Weselton’s nephew lurking. But when Anna and Elsa travel to the Enchanted Forest, they discover mysterious copper machines that disrupt the natural order of things. Who made these machines and what are they doing in the forest? And more importantly, how can Anna and Elsa stop them?”
After the worldwide success of the first Frozen and its famous song Let It Go, the second opus of the animated film – released in 2019 – by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck had brought in nearly 1.45 billion dollars at the box -office. A colossal figure that prompted the creators of the feature film to think bigger, promising fans a third part of Elsa’s adventures.
