Klaus Hagerup has a versatile production behind him, both as a playwright and literary author. He has written films, plays, TV shows, radio play, novels, short stories and poems. He was also with the establishment of Hålogaland Teater.

Hagerup made his debut as an author with the poetry collection “So I think of you” in 1969. He wrote plays and radio play in many years, and in 1988 came the biography “Everything is so close to me” about his mother, Inger Hagerup. Klaus Hagerup also wrote the lyrics to “Ellinors vise” as Sverre Kjelsberg tonesatte, and got a lot of readers when he and his wife, Bibbi Børresen, gave out several travelogues from Tuscany.

Hagerup was born in Oslo in 1946, and grew up on Haugerud as the youngest of two brothers. Both his parents were writers, and as a child he wanted to be either an olympic champion in tikamp or actor.
