The rise of e-commerce has considerably increased the number of parcels exchanged in recent years. Dropping off or picking up a package in a shop near your home or workplace has become, for many French people, a daily gesture. To support this development, the main French express parcel delivery company, Chronopost – a subsidiary of the La Poste group – has joined forces with the French start-up Anycommerce (formerly Wynd).

The start-up has developed state-of-the-art payment software, available in all Chronopost partner shops since July 1. The solution, called AnyPOS, “allows the processing of large quantities of transactions”, indicates the subsidiary of La Poste in a press release. A month after its installation, the new collection software already manages more than 2,000 transactions per day.

The project was launched a year ago, in a context where the number of parcels distributed in France was increasing by more than 10% each year. In 2022, La Poste’s parcel transport activities marked time, but remained at a very high level, with 2.6 billion parcels delivered worldwide.

This new platform deployed throughout France should allow Chronopost to “optimize its operational efficiency”, according to the press release. This partnership also marks the launch of the “I choose French Tech” operation, presented last June by the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. This plan aims to encourage large groups to use solutions developed by promising French start-ups. Anycommerce is one of them and as such is included in the French Tech 40/120 index.
