Change in governance at the head of the Marcel Dassault Industrial Group* (GIMD). Éric Trappier, 63, will succeed Charles Edelstenne as president of the family holding company, announced its supervisory board, chaired by Thierry Dassault, meeting in the presence of Marie-Hélène Habert-Dassault, Héléna Meilhan-Dassault and Laurent Dassault. Éric Trappier will retain his position as CEO of Dassault Aviation, manufacturer of the Rafale combat aircraft and Falcon business jets. The handover is planned, according to the statutes of GIMD, on January 9, 2025, i.e. on the birthday of Charles Edelstenne, who will then celebrate his 87th birthday.
“I thank the Dassault family (..) for the trust they have placed in me… I will be very proud to succeed Charles Edelstenne (..) We have been working together for several decades with complete trust and transparency, he will return to continue his work with passion and commitment (..)”, reacts Eric Trappier. By announcing this appointment well in advance, the family cut short any rumors. In January 2025, Charles Edelstenne will become honorary president of GIMD, “as a testimony to the family’s recognition for his entire career in the Dassault group.”
