Showbiz Ellen Marie, the 24-year-old daughter of Anne De Baetzelier (54), lives normally in Spain, but is now back in Belgium to its first large-scale exhibition to open. “Ellen has decided to make art her life,” says her proud mother. “I think her paintings are very strong. We are just coming from Barcelona with our handling sessions to here driven to her work.”
The collection of Ellen Marie contains a lot of paintings of female bosoms. “I followed a workshop at the American painter Jeremy Mann,” she says. “It was his idea to be thirty days long, and each day a small painting, as warming in the morning. I thought: if I now just once every day my breasts a painter from a different perspective?”
The drawings and paintings of the exhibition ‘Metamorphosis’ are yet to Sunday to see in The Camme in Perk. The prices fluctuate between 1,000 and 10,000 euros. A fair price, especially if you take into account the hours of work, Ellen Marie.
