After numerous rumors about a peculiar private collection of works of art, decided the American FBI in 2014 to the house of Don Miller in Indiana to drop in. What they found surpassed all their expectations: 7.000 illegal artifacts including 2.000 mensenbotten. More than four years later, the origin of these objects remains a mystery.

Don Miller was 90 years old during the police raid in 2014 and an avid amateur archaeologist. Seventy years he traveled as a missionary around the world and he gathered (or not illegal) art objects in 200 different countries. The result was nicely displayed in his house. It took six days before police officers all of the artifacts had collected. the

The art-lover had, like a true fanatic, and belongs, of course, a hobby. He was especially fond of art from the hand of the original inhabitants of America: the indians. Almost half of his collection consisted of indian artefacts, including the 2,000 mensenbotten.

How the man’s bones were discovered and why he thought that he just could bring, is still a question mark. After all, it is strictly prohibited in the US, without the authorisation of archaeological excavations to carry out. Therefore one must ask for the consent of the indigenous population. And so did Miller. the

Avowed museum

The collection of Don Miller over the years, collected, had, moreover, no commercial purpose. He set his finds carefully in his house and encouraged the people to give him a (free) visit, and treasures to admire. And that he did all several years because in 1998, wrote the newspaper Indianapolis Star over the dinosaur eggs that Miller in his possession would have.
