Spending by French households on consumer goods increased by 0.3% in July over one month, under the effect of the increase in purchases of manufactured goods (1.6%) and despite the decline in food consumption ( -0.9%), Insee announced on Thursday.

Consumption thus increased by 0.6% over the last three months compared to the previous three months, but it was down 1.1% compared to July 2022, according to the Institute.
