Michael Cohen, sentenced to jail
Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen has been sentenced to three years in prison for multiple crimes. Among other things, to have paid pornstar Stormy Daniels to keep quiet if she had sex with the president.
“I take full responsibility for any crimes of which I recognised in me,” says Michael Cohen.
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former attorney, was sentenced on Wednesday to three years in prison, reports the american media.
Michael Cohen has previously said that he paid playboykvinnan Karen McDougal and porn star Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, to keep quiet if they had sex with the president, Donald Trump. The reason was to avoid a commercial for the presidency in 2016.
In August, acknowledged the Michael Cohen that he violated the law of civilian rule when he paid for Stormy Daniels. Cohen also was sentenced for having lied to congress regarding plans to build a Trump Tower in Russia, and several tax evasion.
” Every one of these crimes is a serious infringement against the united states. Cohen has pleaded guilty to a smorgasbord of fraudulent documents, ” says judge William Pauley, according to CNN.
Michael Cohen agreed to cooperate with the special ryssutredaren Robert Mueller, in the hope to get his sentence lowered.
Something that had made his former close friend and employer, president Donald Trump, to rage on Twitter. Trump argued that Cohen should get a ”long prison sentence” and ”serving a full sentence”.
Offences, however as so serious that he was sentenced to three years in prison – a year less what the prosecution claimed.
