Be careful, however, that certain metro stations – announced as open all night by the RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités – will ultimately be closed at the request of the Paris police headquarters “as a security measure”. This is particularly the case for the Charles de Gaulle Étoile station from 3 p.m., but also the Franklin D. Roosevelt and George V stations from 4 p.m. or even La Motte Picquet-Grenelle and Boissière.

“On the occasion of New Year’s Eve 2023, the police headquarters will deploy, as every year, in Paris and the inner suburbs, a reinforced security system aimed at guaranteeing the safety of people and property, and preventing disturbances to public order, in a context of high terrorist threat”, justified the PP this Saturday, specifying that 6000 police officers and gendarmes would thus be “mobilized in Paris and in the inner suburbs” during the evening, with a “device reinforced security in the Champs-Élysées sector.

As the police headquarters reminds us, the City of Paris is organizing its traditional New Year show near the Arc de Triomphe, with a musical demonstration and other activities which will begin from 6 p.m. until 11:40 p.m. and will be followed by a video mapping on the monument. The show will end with the traditional fireworks show lasting 10 minutes, starting at midnight.
