Another blow for RER C travelers. This Thursday morning, traffic is still interrupted between the Paris Austerlitz and Invalides, St-Quentin-Yvelines-and Versailles Chantiers stations, as well as the Montigny-Beauchamp and Pontoise stations, in both sense. This is due to tree falls that took place overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, and which severely damaged the catenaries. SNCF Réseau is hoping for a resumption of traffic from 10 a.m.
However, traffic remains disrupted on the entire line. The SNCF explains that the “damage and works are proving to be more complex than expected and still require time”. On Wednesday, traffic had already been interrupted all day between Austerlitz and Invalides stations.
On the Twitter account dedicated to the line, SNCF Réseau encourages travelers to postpone their journey, or to take an alternative route depending on the line section concerned. “We advise you to postpone your trip as far as possible or to take the other Transilien lines (Lines N / D / B / H)”, details the mobility organizing authority.
This new inconvenience could further fuel the discontent of users vis-à-vis the Ile-de-France public transport service. Travelers still remember the incident of June 14, during which hundreds of passengers were stuck in crowded metro trains for several hours, an incident described as “quite exceptional” by the RATP.
