Career The world wide web is full of self-made women: bloggers, vloggers, appontwikkelaars … This week we put a series of quick questions to blogger, copywriter and editor Ruth Van Soom.

1. You is often an influencer called. What do you think of that term?

“When I started blogging, there was of influencers. Now, bloggers are a rare breed, almost everyone is on Instagram or YouTube. I think the evolution is positive, because it helps creative people to get their egg to lose, and followers to influence. At the same time, it is very flat and commercial. Popular and earn money is a priority on the creation. A pity, because this way you get a lack of individuality.”

2. In 2016, you have two friends ‘Enfnts Terribles ” was founded. What was your motive?

“Dries, Jon and I were invited to an event in Amsterdam. It clicked immediately. We got to talking about our frustrations with blogging. We were writing about yourself and what you are wearing is too restrictive. A week later it was Enfnts Terribles’ a fact.”

3. How do you make the difference with other lifestylesites?

“We write only about what our own interests. Apparently, we don’t have everyday taste. ( laughs ) What strikes me, is that social media is a source of hatred. We try to be honest and to be critical, without being negative.”
