Satellifacts, a professional publication on audiovisual and cinema, will be acquired within two years by CFNews, a digital media specializing in corporate financial information, which begins by taking a majority stake of 75% at the end of May, announced its founder. The amount of this operation was not specified.
Owned and managed by journalist Agathe Zilber, who founded it 15 years ago, CFNews intends to “continue its growth through acquisitions” in “promising sectors”, after having launched CFNews immo in 2017 for players in the real estate and, 3 years ago, CFNews infra for those in infrastructure, according to a press release from the two media with similar models based on “BtoB” (from professionals to professionals) and subscriptions. Combining information and databases, “CFNews will bring its technological and innovative know-how in data to Satellifacts”.
“Editorial and commercial synergies” are thus envisaged, as is “the organization of events bringing together the audiovisual and cinema ecosystem” or the “deployment of new offers in France and internationally”. “CFnews and Satellifacts will post an annual turnover of more than 8 million euros,” according to their press release.
Joël Wirsztel, who founded the “audiovisual bible” Satellifacts (formerly Satellifax) in 1995 and has always been its sole shareholder, will remain at its head for “two more years”, while his team of 11 journalists will be retained, he clarified. Enough to guarantee “the continuity of the model (…) which made the success of the title, which retains its name and its editorial independence”, assures the press release. The “first digital media” intended for players in corporate finance in France, CFNews boasts 2 million page views per month and has 40 employees, including 15 journalists.
“Received by all audiovisual, cinema and communication professionals”, Satellifacts claims to have more than 12,000 daily readers and 18,000 recipients of a daily alert.
