MA France, the automotive supplier which had retained an industrial activity on the former historic PSA site in Aulnay-sous-Bois, is closing its doors. On Monday, the Bobigny commercial court placed it in compulsory liquidation. It was the last automobile factory in Seine-Saint-Denis. The company stamped bodywork and chassis parts for small Peugeot or Citroën utility vehicles and Opel SUVs – 85% of its activity -; she also worked for Renault. But Stellantis, MA France’s main contractor, estimated that the equipment manufacturer was encountering “structural competitiveness difficulties which handicap it in the acquisition of new markets. The inflationary context (materials, labor, energy) also impacts its profitability. The group specified that, from now on, the stamping activity was taken over by the Stellantis factories in Europe.
MA France employees went on strike on April 17 to save their 280 jobs. Three Stellantis sites, in Poissy (Yvelines), Hordain (North) and Luton (England), had been shut down due to lack of parts supply. On Monday, around a hundred employees went to court to ask the prosecutor to appeal the decision to cease activity.
MA France in Aulnay-sous-Bois is one of the 23 industrial sites of the Italian group CLN, present in Europe, South America and Africa, with 7,210 employees. It made 1.58 billion euros in 2023.
