TV The iconic reclameroofdiertje Loeki the Lion is tonight, much to the delight of tv viewers made its comeback on the Dutch television. Loeki was fifteen years ago for the last time on the tube.

In the video, appeared Loeki as a trance dj in a packed stadium where he was announced with the words ‘the king is back’ and ‘the ultimate predator dj. During his performance makes the little lion behind the turntables a rotsmak, after which the sound caused havoc and he “good heavens” cried. Then burst his dance party.

On Twitter was the comeback of the little lion, ever invented by Joop Geesink and now revived by his daughter Louise Geesink and Patrick raat’s (animation and direction), all for the broadcast topic of conversation. Some suggested, even before the first images were to be seen, never to have longed for a commercial on tv. But there was also controversy, because it appeared to be a Loeki-movie that is already in november 2016, by the makers on tv, YouTube would have been taken. “Never before seen material? What a load of rubbish”, responded someone. The STAR (Stichting Etherreclame, ed.) was tonight not for comments to reach.

It came to an as-yet-single-movie, shortly before the News of 20: 00 on NPO 1, which uses the old pop and a digitally animated images. The iconic ‘good heavens’ was old audio material from Joop Geesink who is the voice of Loeki in the past as well.

The return of Loeki began recently with a petition from the radio-dj’s Jan Willem Roodbeen and Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte. The petition of the two got within two days, more than 20,000 signatures. The STAR, responsible for the advertising on public channels, had promised at least 10,000 signatures to think about the return of Loeki on television. Loeki thanked tonight the drafters of the action and all the fans that contributed to his comeback.

Loeki the Lion interrupted the STAR-claims between 1972 and 2004. Often went there in the films something wrong with Loeki invariably ‘good heavens’, cried. In total, there are more than seven thousand movies around Loeki made. The STAR stopped in 2004 with the movies because it is too expensive to make them.
