American billionaire Elon Musk is not done with his transformation from the social network to the blue bird. A little over eighteen months after the takeover of Twitter for 43 billion dollars, the dismissal of several thousand employees around the world, the appointment of a new CEO, the establishment of paid subscriptions, the businessman is now changing the name and logo. You can say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, little by little, to all the birds,” the SpaceX founder said in a tweet Sunday morning. From now on, the name of the social network is “ X”, accompanied by a new logo.

Another new feature, implemented nearly a week ago, is limiting the number of private messages (or “DMs”) non-subscribers can send each other per day. A measure officially intended to limit spam and other unwanted mail.

In reality, this is a new attempt to acquire new paying subscribers to the service billed just under 10 dollars per month. In the same spirit, Twitter a few weeks ago restricted the number of tweets visible per day for non-subscribers (1,000 against 10,000 for subscribers).

The billionaire is looking for new sources of cash, while revenues are down 50% since taking control. Elon Musk is also showing that he has no intention of letting go of the reins, as Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg recently launched his own platform, Threads.
