Madrid, Catalonia and Andalusia add up to more than half of the inactive firms in the country investigated by the Treasury. The Tax Agency is fining inactive firms that do not publish accounts to clean up the census.
The campaign launched by the Tax Agency to try to detect and eliminate ghost companies with no real activity from the census, in order to prevent them from serving as shell companies for fraudulent networks or to obtain financial benefits.
