A housing crisis hit Chantilly and the entire national territory during the Trente Glorieuses. A change in urban planning then begins. Neighborhoods, marked by period architecture, and large complexes are built. The community of the Ville et Pays d’art et d’histoire label offers the public the opportunity to discover the multiple stages, the foundations and the transformations of the northern districts of the city, from Le Coq Chantant to Lefébure.

This little paradise on stilts is classified as a sensitive natural area. Located in the Hautes-Alpes, the Liou wetland is rich in exceptional flora and fauna. Throughout the site, the soils are completely permeable thanks to the construction on stilts of the “wooden promenade”. The public will walk the various footbridges alongside architect Maryline Chevalier. These footbridges are in harmony with the landscape and have been designed to remain very discreet.
