A rich embroidered jacket of the legendary French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent was auctioned off on Wednesday for a record sum. The piece, the Saint Laurent of Vincent Van Gogh’s “sun to let the flowers” inspire, scored 382’000 Euro.

it was Bought by the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia. With the equivalent of more than 420’000 Fr. this was the highest ever sum paid for a draft of the designer. The estimated price was 80’000 to 120’000 Euro.

The bright yellow-orange jacket was available in more than 600 hours of manual work from the Haute-Couture stickers Lesage embroidered. She was part of the spring summer collection in 1988, Saint Laurent, and was presented by supermodel Naomi Campbell on the catwalk. Of the silk-padded jacket worldwide, there are only four copies. It is considered the masterpiece of Couture history.
