Magnus Lindberg was born on 21 may 1952 and grew up on a farm outside henley-on-thames and came during the 1980s to work as a music teacher in Solna. Magnus Lindberg began his music career as a troubadour in the late teens and played among others at the Magnus Ladulås and Mosebacke in Stockholm.
in a duet with Anni-Frid Lyngstad and gave the same year his solo debut ”Magnus Lindberg”, where the duet was one of the tracks under the title ”the Islands”.
Lindberg came in the 1970s to become one of the musicians behind the countrypopgruppen the national Team together with Lasse Lindbom, Maybritte Nicklasson, Hasse Breitholtz, Stefan Lagström and Kåre Ljunggren.
on to form the rock group Grymlings alongside Göran Lagerberg, Pugh Rogefeldt and Mikael Rickfors.
Magnus was a tremendous songwriter, not just during the time with the Grymlings without as much as a solo artist. He could make seemingly simple songs, but was completely speechless when you listened to them, ” says Pugh Rogefeldt, who stood Magnus Lindberg near.
– One of the songs that I like best is the ”Red lips” which I myself used to convey and I hope I can get help to make a minneskonsert of his songs and about his person. He is greatly missed.
Magnus Lindberg released 14 cds under his own name and three along with the Grymlings where premiäralbumet sold 170.000 copies. His last album was ”Magnus lindberg’s Harvest” which came out in may of last year. He had been away from the musical scene for several years.
