According to the critics, you are, since 2012, in the starter mode. Not to burn?
I think I’m dying slowly, and still. And so it is to me dear, I appreciate every step that happens.
How they stand by their soulful debut album, “Village”, now, is where it appeared?
It is everything I hoped for me. I say this more from an emotional than from a physical perspective.

Can you explain it in more detail?
the work on The Album confronted me with myself, with my memories and emotions. In the Song “Slow Up” I tried to capture the feeling, to grow up too fast. An experience that I had to make as the Eldest of four siblings. Some memories hurt still today.
A stroke of fate led you to the music, right?
Yes. I loved music, but was convinced that it is not a career option. My best friend pushed me, but I studied and wanted to be an engineer. He died when we were 21. Since it was clear to me that I have to try it at least, as long as air flows through my lungs. Today, you are as a musician financially independent. Are you proud of that?
I was lucky. Or no, it was no luck. So something like this happens, it takes many people to help. I am very grateful.

you are born in Nigeria. How does that influence your music?
It gives me the freedom to commute between musical references and Communities. This is a blessing. If Ed Sheeran-colored Song makes a African, he has to legitimize him. If I, as an African, African Sound, behind the no one asks.
your immigrant was certainly not always an advantage, right?
There was a time that I didn’t know for which side I stand and how I define myself. But I’m both, and that’s exactly how I feel also. And this fact I can’t run away. I think it is.
What do you think of the word “home”?
Home is where my cats are. But regardless of that, I think, the world is my home: We are all earthlings.
