In april 1986 apprehended a teenage guy for shoplifting at Åhlens. It is the same day that Olof Palme has been assassinated, and on the wall of tv screens in the store rolls the news with the same formulation over and over: that we now live in a different Sweden.

the Guy, Erik, is brought by a butiksvakt to a separate room. Even the guard repeat: it is a Sweden now. Literally so. A border has been weakened. The guard points to a door in the room and says: ”If you go in through the now changing everything.”

It is the premise for ”today, tomorrow and always”, the initial section of the P1:p skräckantologipodd ”twilight zone”. The short story is written by John Ajvide Lindqvist and stir at the familiar elements in his writing.

– Gränstematiken is something I often come back to, ever since Eli in ”Let the right one in”, about what happens when it comes to it, which is not intended for people.

– It moves in the same circle and at some point, I’ll link everything together. Now when I’m 50 I can feel how I building block for building block is writing something I begin to discern the contours of a shared universe. I don’t know what it is; I can only write first and then know.
