As every year, the Lega del Filo d’oro dedicates the months of February and march to the training of new volunteers, a vital resource to enable children and adults and deafblind people to live reports spontaneous helping to enrich the “their world”.
A wealth of expertise. The volunteers represent a component of the founding of the Lega del Filo d’oro: affirm the values of solidarity, generosity and participation and, with their availability, encourage the active involvement of deafblind people in any context, playing the role of guide, intermediary with the outside world and point of access to information. It is, in short, a wealth of expertise absolutely diverse and complementary, free of charge in the service of the Association and its users, for example during the various recreational activities or summer vacations, and a historical activity of the “League”, which over the years has evolved while still staying central.

During the courses, the volunteers will learn about the various systems of communication and how to support them in orientation and mobility. A path is crucial not only for those who will volunteer to direct and will take care of the users, but also for those who will be the spokesperson of the Lega del Filo d’oro, participating through volunteer work indirectly with the activities of promotion and fundraising, transport and other complementary activities. To the volunteers is required availability to carry out a service with a weekly or fortnightly: the constancy is especially important in volunteer direct, as the persons assisted have a lot of faith in the relationship with the volunteer.
What is the “Lega del Filo d’oro”. Today the Lega del Filo d’oro is present in eight regions and follows each year, more than 900 users from all over Italy carrying out its activities of assistance, education and rehabilitation of deafblind people and pluriminorate psicosensoriali in the Centres, and regional Services in Osimo (AN), the main Office of the Entity, Lesmo (MB), Modena, Molfetta (BA) and Termini Imerese (PA), and in the Offices in Padua, Rome and Naples.
