the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, speaks on Monday night for the first time to the nation, since the violent demonstrations broke out in France four weeks ago.

the President gives a series of promises to meet the protesters.

He says at the same time, that the French took during anger sticking “deep” and are “entitled”. By the same token, condemns he also, however, the violent behaviour, as protesters have demonstrated in recent weeks.

Among the Macrons promises Monday is a small increase in the country’s minimum wage.

the President announces so to the minimum wage from next year be increased by € 100 a month – equivalent to almost 750 dollars.

The recent protests are led by the protest movement “The Yellow Jackets”.

the Movement started as a protest over a tax increase, among other fossil fuels.

the Protests have, however, been extended to include a general dissatisfaction with the government, and a growing inequality.
